My motto is: Always leave a place better than you arrived.
I am very happily married with two wonderful adult step children and three grandchildren. They too have wonderful spouses we love and adore. I've always enjoyed the natural flow of life, the good, the challenges, the sad and the joyful times.
I am a natural therapist and guide in helping people heal themselves and relationships. I am fortunate to have seen so many lives change right in front of me. I see therapy as a process that brings out the best in each person. The power of being our best selves brings joy and abundance to all our relationships.
I have volunteered for many non-profits and organizations that require leadership, compassion, and working with a variety of different backgrounds and professions.
I LOVE dogs, all dogs! Rescue dogs are my passion. I often spend holidays doing volunteer work working with dogs at Best Friend Animal Society in Kanab, Utah. My office is dog friendly, furnished with toys and treats should my clients want to bring their furry friends for comfort.
Martial Arts
Choy Li Fut Kung Fu and Tai Chi training is foundational in practicing self-care. Martial Arts is not just a training of the body but of the mind. The therapeutic methods I use when working with many of my clients has been reinforced by my own training. Discipline of the mind: paying attention to self-defeating thoughts and redirecting them so they "work for me" rather than working against me" is a paramount skill to growing, self-confidence and healing. This mental tool helps my clients make the cognitive shift that helps them better manage issues like depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, addiction, feeling stuck, and breaking through roadblocks.
My martial arts training challenges me every time I put on the school's uniform. I started this journey at age 54 for purposes of physical health and longevity, but it has been the mental training where I have benefitted the most. I truly believe this has also helped me help all this I work with.
